The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), based in Burlingame, California, is an accrediting agency for schools in California and in the EARCOS region. The American International School of Guangzhou is proud to have been accredited by this agency since 1987. The most recent full accreditation term of six years was given to AISG in 2006. During the 2005/06 school year, the AISG stakeholders completed a Focus on Learning: WASC Self Study Accreditation Report to prepare for the visit by the WASC Visiting Team. The results of this self study, the WASC Visiting Team Report, and the revised schoolwide action plan continue to support the belief that AISG is a school that inspires growth and strives for excellence.
