AISG maintains it's own on-site e-mail server, web server, and database applications. Peripheral equipment includes projectors, color laser printers, scanners, document cameras, Smartboards and more than 300 wireless laptops and other typical hardware found in a modern educational environment. SoftwareAISG computers are exclusively Dell and HP machines running Windows XP. Standardized productivity applications across all three division include OpenOffice and Serif Creative Suite. Other applications, such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite are installed in specific environments to maximize their accessibility. The e-mail communications platform at AISG is FirstClass. All students Grade 4 and up are issued FirstClass accounts. Elementary students' e-mail access is limited to on-campus e-mail only. AISG adopted FirstClass in 2005 and focuses on it's e-mail capabilities, using Moodle to leverage on-line learning. CurriculumTechnology is an integrated subject beginning in Kindergarten. In second grade the integrated laptop trolley approach is enhanced with students scheduled into a lab with a technology specialist. In middle and high school a variety of discreet IT courses are offered. Integration takes place in all classes using on-line learning resources and multiple labs, laptop trolleys and students' personal computers. On-Line LearningThe school maintains mutliple Moodle servers offering on-line learning support in every grade. Elementary teachers provide support material and communications with parents via Moodle classes. Students use Moodle to access key links and resources their teachers post. In middle and high school homework and important materials are posted for all courses. On line assessments, collaborative wikis and many other components are used in different ways by teachers in Moodle. Laptop trolleys, personal computers & Trapeze WifiMultiple laptop trolleys are available in all divisions. In addition to trolleys, divisions have multiple computer labs which teachers can schedule classes in. Libraries on both campuses have computer labs available for instruction and research. Students are invited to bring their own laptops to school and connect via the school's Trapeze wifi network at the Science Park campus. |
