Advisory

Advisory is an integral part of our Middle School Program and it aims to meet the needs of young adolescents by providing structured guidance and support for all of our Middle School students. The Advisory Program aims to create a sense of belonging for each student, promote a positive self image in each student, ensure that each student is well known and valued as a unique individual. The advisor is the first port of call for parents if there are any questions or concerns about their child and through their own classes, communication with subject teachers and grade level meetings advisors monitor the well being and academic progress of each student. Advisory is a place where students can discuss any concerns they may have as well as be guided on school or grade issues as they arise. Topics that may be addressed in advisory include : team building, group work, goal setting, organization, bullying, computer use, plagiarism, self esteem, friendships, solving conflicts, decision making, etc.
