Did you know that November has been Child Protection Awareness Month at AISG Elementary School? Several initiatives took place during the month to ensure that AISG is a “Child Safe Zone.”
AISG hosted its very first RamNation Classic Golf Tournament on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Foshan Golf Club. The event helped bring the AISG community together with a friendly competition and great prizes at the cocktail party that followed.
Did you know that IB Theater learners have been busy exploring Peking Opera as well as various worldwide theater traditions this school year? This past week, these students had the opportunity to work closely with two Peking Opera experts who helped them understand the theoretical and cultural context of this famous theater tradition while also teaching them some practical and physical exploration of the performance conventions.
Did you know that part of the vision of AISG is to be a leader in providing compassionate learning for our students? The “Caught You Caring” initiative in the Elementary School is a great example of how AISG seeks to empower students to notice and praise others that are ‘caught caring' at AISG.
Elementary School students held a parade to celebrate United Nations Day, which is a strong tradition at AISG. UN Day represents a day to reaffirm its ideals and students celebrated UN's ideal of world peace by showcasing its 50+ nationalities. This important event is a powerful and visual reminder of AISG's values to embrace multiculturism, inclusiveness and global mindedness.
This week AISG’s Board of Governors held its fall meeting for the members of the American School Association Guangzhou (ASAG), which is composed of current AISG parents. A record attendance of over 300 parents came to support the school and listen to the Board's review of the school's financial audit results, the published annual report and the Board's goals for the upcoming year.
AISG formed an 18-member Quarantine Support Group and the PTA organized over 20 volunteers to welcome returning and new teachers and to help them be as comfortable as possible in quarantine. Phase 1 of the MFP at Science Park is complete!
The biggest and immediate hit was the new grand staircase at its entrance. Students were naturally drawn to its ergonomic and open space with its wide benches and natural skylight.
AISG celebrated this Mid-Autumn Festival with a Lantern Parade at the Ersha campus. Our littlest Rams, Pre-K to Grade 2, displayed their self-created lanterns while parents watched virtually and students from Grades 3-5 participated as an enthusiastic audience. Students were proud to show their artwork that celebrates this traditional Chinese holiday.
AISG invited parents to attend a RamNation Rendezvous as our way of thanking them for their support, for allowing AISG to educate their children, to have some food and drinks, and to give an update on AISG's progress and plans.
Thursday, September 10 is designated as Teachers' Day in China. It's a day to honor and show respect and gratitude for the hard work that teachers do. Our gratitude towards our biggest Rams goes beyond measure and we want to wish all teachers and educators around the world a very Happy Teacher's Day!
The 2020-2021 school year has begun! Both campuses are open, and students and faculty returned both in person and online to fulfill AISG’s mission, to nurture future-ready individuals to aspire, achieve and contribute. Welcome back, Rams!
Congratulations to our 65 seniors and their outstanding IB results. Their results outperformed last year’s results in every category! AISG’s average IB score increased 4 points from last year to 36, which was well above the world average of 29.9. AISG also had an IB score of 45, a perfect score!
AISG recently wrapped up its very successful Summer Enrichment Program. The program offered both on-campus and online courses to Pre-K through Grade 11 students. The Summer Enrichment Program is a testament of how the AISG community comes together to provide innovative solutions for dynamic, compassionate and connected learning.

How are AISG faculty rising to meet the challenge of a 100% online learning environment and what are they learning as a result?
The Guangdong Provincial Department of Education announced that local schools will commence online learning beginning March 2, that Kindergarten and Special Education Schools will not be required to participate in online learning and all schools will be closed until further notice, and that resumption date for local schools is still to be determined.
