Accreditation

NCCT

NCCTNCCTThe National Center for Curriculum Study and Textbook Development (NCCT) - China Ministry of Education

AISG was accredited by NCCT, a non-governmental agency affiliated to the Ministry of Education in China, in 2013. Established in 1998, NCCT is engaged in nation-wide study, development and assessment of school curricula, textbooks and related professional work. It remains the only accreditation-related agency approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education to enact a process for schools seeking both international and Chinese accreditation. As such, it is responsible for addressing accreditation tasks regarding 'Schools for Children of Foreign Nationals.'

WASC

WASCWASCAISG has been accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) since 1987. Accreditation is the best way for international schools to demonstrate that they meet high international education standards. As part of the accreditation process WASC regularly visits schools to review recent progress. Every year AISG submits a report to WASC detailing how we are addressing the WASC criteria and every 6 years we go through a detailed self-study and visit from a WASC visiting team. Our next visit from a WASC team will be in the March of 2012.

On this page you will find links to the 2012 WASC self-study. The 2006 self-study report, 2009 mid-term report and past visiting committee reports are also available here. Finally, the links on the side of the page will give provide more information about WASC the March 2012 accreditation visit.

IB

IBIBThe International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

AISG is authorized by the International Baccalaureate (IB) to offer the Primary Years Program and Diploma Program. The Middle School offers its own courses based on an American curriculum, and these are combined with IB and Advanced Placement (AP) courses at the High School. Graduates earn an American secondary school diploma and/or IB Diploma.
