AISG Elementary School Winter Concert
On Saturday, our talented singers and musicians gathered onstage at our Er Sha campus. Performers included our Elementary Aftershool Activities (EASA) Orchestra and Choir, our GEB Competition Choir, the student-led Barefoot Band and our Parent Community Choir, Clear Voices.

The EASA Orchestra started the concert with two beautifully played songs, demonstrating their acquired musical skills and talents after just eight weeks of practice. With over 40 students in this afterschool activity, their music was a wonderful ensemble of string, woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments.

Next, the EASA Choir performed their rendition of traditional folk songs, followed by festive holiday songs. Two students accompanied our choirs on the piano during their songs, which is such an amazing skill for our young students to have.

Members of the student-led Barefoot Band joined in for the concert to play a few songs as well. The band is a group of AISG students that was founded during the beginning of the pandemic last year. These students often visit nursing homes and people with special needs to perform songs and bring joy.

The GEB Competition Choir were next, performing the two songs that they showcased during the competition. They will be performing once again with our sister school, Tieyi Primary School, during the competition final in January as the opening act.

Clear Voices, our Parent Community Choir, joined in on Saturday’s performance, singing a variety of holiday songs to celebrate the season. The EASA Choir joined them in their last song, and it was lovely to hear our community singing together.

The grand finale was a Holiday Jubilee, where the Orchestra returned to the stage and all the choirs stood on the risers and together, they performed an ensemble! It was incredible to hear all the wonderful melodies of this large group and it certainly got everyone into the holiday spirit.

A big shoutout to Elementary School Music Teacher, Ms. Kim Gilbertson, who helps our students learn their craft, practice, and gain their confidence to perform.
