Apply To AISG
We are delighted you are considering applying to the American International School of Guangzhou.
We are highly invested in admitting new families and students who believe in our culture of community, academic rigor, and whole-child development.
We understand moving to a new school can be a big step not just for students, but also for families. We welcome applications throughout the school year, being fully aware that occasionally a family's move to Guangzhou is unexpected and can happen in a short space of time.
Take a look at the steps involved below and get started whenever you are ready. If at any stage of the process you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Director of AISG
Please review our Grade Placement Guide and our Required Documents carefully. We highly recommend preparing all required documents prior to applying to ensure a smooth application process. This enables our admissions team to process your submission as quickly as possible and provide you with a timely decision regarding your family’s application.
Submit an online application form with required documentation to ensure your child is placed on the list of applicants. We stay in regular contact with you throughout the process, giving you updates on the progress of your application.
Once we've received a complete application and all the required documents, the principal and counselors of the relevant division will review the application and determine the best placement for your child.
Upon making a final decision in determining your child's placement, we will then inform you of the outcome and next steps of joining the AISG community.
Students applying from the Guangzhou Area are required to take an English admissions test as part of the qualification process, and may need to participate in an oral assessment/interview as well. Once your application is complete and the application processing fee is paid, we will email you to confirm your child’s assessment date and time.

We begin offering seats to successful applicants in early April. The Admissions Office continuously monitors seat availability throughout the year and notifies families in a timely manner of the possibility of joining our community. In order to maximize enrollment opportunities we encourage all families to apply for admission at their earliest convenience. Families do not need to have confirmed plans in place to make an initial inquiry.
If your child qualifies for admissions, and there are no seats available in the grade level or program, they will be placed on our waitlist. As seats become available during the school year, we will offer them to students on the waitlist according to our admissions criteria. You must submit your application and your child must qualify for admission to the school before your child can be placed on the waitlist.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
