Another year of exceptional IBDP scores for our graduating class! This year, AISG’s average score of 36 was well above the world average of 32 – amazing job Class of 2022! Even more impressive, 100% of our students passed the diploma this year, which is an incredible feat.  

Out of 46 students who graduated from the Class of 2022, 43 of them were full diploma candidates with 21 of them scoring 35 points or higher. 40% of our students earned bilingual diplomas, 9 students were in the National Honor Society and 6 were in the National Chinese Honor Society.  

The highest score AISG students achieved this year was 43, with the highest score possible being 45. Our mean exam score (7 being a perfect score) outpaced the world average of 5.12 with 5.64.  

For the American International School of Guangzhou, however, success means more than just high grades. When it comes to the IB Diploma Program (IBDP), the school believes in an inclusive approach. All students in Grade 11 are given the choice whether they want to take on the full diploma program.   

Our IBDP Coordinator Mr. Matthew Wood said, “While our results are outstanding and are well above the global average, our biggest point of pride is that all of our students earned their IBDP Diploma. The 100% pass rate not only shows our students’ determination to succeed but also the level of support that our staff offer our students. A great team effort that we can all be proud of!”  

Our Director Mr. Kevin Baker congratulated our students and said, "We are so proud of our AISG IB diploma graduates. They have excelled in the highest curriculum and assessment system in the world! No combination of course work at AISG makes more rigorous demands on the academic, social, or community requirements of our students than to be an IB diploma recipient!" 

Our Deputy Director, Mr. Jamie Robb added, “We are very proud of our graduates’ effort and determination throughout their Diploma Program journey. We look forward to continuing to enhance our students’ experiences by using their feedback to determine areas for improvement. Student voice is integral to the development of our program and to ensure we are meeting the needs of all our learners.”
