AISG's VEX and VEX IQ teams from both Lower and Upper Secondary recently competed in the ACAMIS South China Regional Championships at UISG Zengcheng over the weekend. This two-day event provided an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their skills against the 8 other international schools in attendance.

Our students performed amazingly! Our Lower Secondary teams won the Robot Skill Award and earned second in teamwork! Our Upper Secondary teams also dominated, taking home 6 of 8 awards, including Excellence, Tournament Champion, Finalist, Semi-Finalist, Skills, Design, and Innovation. They also secured 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places!

With these incredible results, our teams are heading to the National Championship! It’s special for a team to achieve this level of success, and we couldn’t be prouder of their hard work, creativity, and dedication.

The competition fostered a spirit of innovation, encouraging students to push the boundaries of their robotics knowledge through coding, building, and driving their creations. It was designed to motivate students to use robotics in developing their understanding of Science, Math, Engineering, and Technology, while building teamwork, self-confidence, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Students learned valuable lessons about working together effectively, problem-solving under pressure, and adapting to challenges—essential skills that extend beyond robotics and into their future endeavors.

These robotics competitions were among the most anticipated highlights of the school year. Each event offered rich learning opportunities, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in engineering and technology. As they engaged in friendly competition, participants developed a deeper appreciation for innovation and creativity, inspiring them to continue exploring the exciting world of robotics.
