Beyond the Classroom: AISG Social Practice Program 2024-2025
Our Social Practice Program offers students a valuable opportunity to engage in experiential learning, gain real-world experience, and develop new skills. To date, we are proud that the program has provided professional opportunities to 88 Upper Secondary students through 10 partner companies. Through this initiative, students gain meaningful, hands-on work experience in fields related to their studies or career interests, helping them build confidence and make a positive impact on their future academic and professional paths.

The program has continued to grow and expand, with students having the opportunity to gain exposure to a wider range of industries. During the 2024-2025 school year, 22 students participated in four specialized programs. Keep reading to learn more about what each of these programs entailed!

Company: Deron Dental
Industry: Dentistry
A simulation-based experience aimed to provide a basic understanding of the dental industry.
Our students had the chance to immerse themselves in the dentistry industry. Each day brought a fresh topic, blending fascinating theory with real‑world practice to help them steadily master the basics of dental healthcare. Under the friendly guidance of their mentors, they rolled up their sleeves for plenty of hands‑on activities — from perfecting techniques to acting out the hustle and bustle of a real dental clinic. In a lively simulation, they took turns playing both dentist and patient, practicing how to conduct a proper oral check‑up in the dental chair!

Company: SGD Pharma
Industry: Glass Packaging
A marketing-focused program aimed to provide a basic understanding of the glass industry and develop important research and analytical skills for competitor analysis.
Over an intensive five‑day program, participants immersed themselves in a dynamic sequence of activities designed to bridge theory and practice. They conducted in‑depth competitor research, performed detailed market analysis, and managed product samples to gain tangible insights into market dynamics. The experience culminated in a polished final presentation, an insightful debrief, and the formal awarding of certificates to recognize their achievements. By the end of this immersive journey, our students had not only sharpened their marketing expertise but were equipped them with practical skills and confidence to tackle real‑world challenges in a competitive industry.

Company: Medprin Biotech
Industry: Biomedical Engineering
A lab-based program exploring the most advanced biomedical engineering technologies with PhD. mentors.
Our students embarked on an inspiring learning journey between Guangzhou and Shenzhen, delving into the cutting edge of medical innovation. Through expert‑led seminars and their own guided research projects, they explored the applications of 3D printing for a chosen organ of interest, which is typically a level of inquiry reserved for PhD‑level study. This rare opportunity offered both technical depth and creative exploration, transforming their understanding of biomedical technology. Under the guidance of Dr. Xu, Co‑Founder of Medprin and an AISG caregiver, along with his dedicated team, students experienced a uniquely dynamic program that fueled both their knowledge and their curiosity for the field.

Company: That’s Guangzhou
Industry: Communications & Media
Hands-on experience in journalism and video creation.
Students stepped into the fast‑paced world of media production, collaborating with industry professionals from That’s Guangzhou, one of the city’s leading English‑language publications. Over the course of the program, they honed key skills in interviewing, news writing, and digital storytelling, while also mastering the full video production cycle - from scripting and filming to editing and post‑production. The experience culminated in a professional‑quality video, published on That’s Guangzhou’s official platforms, offering them authentic industry exposure and a standout piece for their portfolios.
