Class of 2026 TOK Exhibition

To highlight their first year of learning in the International Baccalaureate® Diploma Programme (IBDP), Grade 11 students enrolled in the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course recently hosted their exhibition.

This core class dives deep into the intriguing question, "How do we know what we know?" The exhibition served as a showcase for students to share their insights on the nature of knowledge itself. This year’s theme was “Perception: Unveiling the Essence of Knowledge in a Kaleidoscope of Perspectives.”

Focusing on challenging biases and assumptions, the event inspired students to expand their understanding of the myriad perspectives that shape our world. The exhibition served as a showcase for students to share their insights on the nature of knowledge itself.

During the exhibition, students are presented with a unique opportunity to showcase the practical relevance of TOK in the real world. Students were required to choose one of the 35 prompts offered by the IB, which cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Can new knowledge change established values or beliefs?
  • What constraints are there on the pursuit of knowledge?
  • What role do experts play in influencing our consumption or acquisition of knowledge?
  • Who owns knowledge?
  • What makes a good explanation?

To show their learning and understanding of their chosen prompt, students choose three objects from their daily lives to connect to their prompt and each other. Items can be digital or physical items, such as a photograph, a toy, a tennis racket, or a book, which is presented along with the student’s writing to back up their claim.

Caregivers, faculty, and students were invited to attend the event, making it a real show of community and learning. Grade 11 presented their work with confidence, engaging in discussions with guests and answering questions about their projects. It was a fantastic showcase of their learning and a celebration of their accomplishments.
