ISMAG Sing Up! A Celebration of Music and Community
AISG was proud to host this year’s ISMAG Sing Up! event, bringing together young voices from across Guangzhou’s international school community. As a founding member of ISMAG, AISG promotes musical exchange by hosting and participating in events such as Sing Up!, Battle of the Bands, and the Guangzhou Piano Competition. These gatherings give students unforgettable opportunities to share their talents, learn from peers, and celebrate the universal language of music.
This year’s Sing Up! featured choirs from five schools — UISG, BSG, CISGZ, CIS, and AISG — with performances from both our Upper Elementary and Lower Elementary choirs. Each school’s choir took the stage to perform their own prepared pieces, showcasing the unique style, repertoire, and spirit of their music programs
In addition to the individual school performances, students came together for a collaborative workshop. Students from all five schools were mixed into combined groups, learning harmonies, melody lines, and musical techniques from conductors from different schools. The workshop was not only educational but also a chance for students to make new friends across schools, connect through song, and experience the magic of creating music together.
The day concluded with a grand finale performance, featuring all choirs on stage as one united voice performing “Sisi Ni Moja”. The combined sound of over a hundred Elementary singers filled the AISG auditorium, a powerful reminder of how music can transcend boundaries and foster community. The audience of caregivers, teachers, and classmates were treated to a performance that was both uplifting and deeply memorable.
Hosting Sing Up! reflects AISG’s commitment to fostering creativity, collaboration, and cultural exchange through the performing arts. By giving students space to perform, learn, and grow alongside peers from other international schools, we help nurture confidence, global-mindedness, and a lifelong love for music.
