Joyful Journeys: A Morning of Music
Last week, our Kindergarten and Grade 1 students took to the stage to showcase their musical talents during their concert! Caregivers attended and it was a wonderful morning of music as our students sang, danced, and shared what they’ve been learning during their music class.

The concert began with a joint performance of "Hello to All the Children of the World," a beloved song that sets the tone for our classes. The song reflected our commitment to inclusivity and the joy of learning together, making it the perfect opening for our celebration of creativity.

The Kindergarten section of the concert was centered around the book A Bear's Year by Kathy Duval & Gerry Turley. This story follows a mother bear and her cubs through the changing seasons, providing a beautiful backdrop for our students' performances. Throughout the concert, students narrated the story while showcasing songs, dances, and games learned throughout the year, bringing the narrative to life in an engaging way.

One highlight was "Snow is Falling Down," where the KA class danced with ribbon wands, while KB added rhythm with instruments like rain sticks and bells. The interactive game "Grizzly Bear is Sleeping" had everyone on their feet, creating a lively atmosphere as students transformed into bears, capturing the spirit of fun and teamwork. The performance of the "Gummy Bear" dance was an absolute crowd favorite, with students enthusiastically clamoring to participate, reminding us all the joy of childhood.

Transitioning to Grade 1, students explored the adventures of a dog in The Umbrella by Ingrid and Dieter Schubert. This textless book inspired our young learners to write original poems based on different biomes, integrating their exploration of poetry into the concert.

Students showcased their creativity with a captivating performance that included a dance depicting the dog and cat discovering the umbrella, set to "Flying" from the Peter Pan soundtrack. As the story came to an end, students came together to sing and dance to "What a Wonderful World." This moment encapsulated the essence of their journey, celebrating the adventures of the dog as it returned home.

To finish the show, our Kindergarten students rejoined our Grade 1 students in a spirited rendition of the AISG School song, uniting everyone in a final celebration of our community and the arts!

This concert highlighted the incredible talents of our young performers and reinforced the importance of arts education in fostering creativity and collaboration. We are immensely proud of our students and their memorable celebration of learning and imagination!
