Learning Never Stops - Even for Teachers!

Teachers who embrace the philosophy of lifelong learning are essential to creating a vibrant and effective educational environment. By continually seeking new knowledge and skills, they not only enhance their own practices but also set a powerful example for their students.

This dedication to personal and professional growth keeps them in tune with the latest trends, methodologies, and technologies, making them more adaptable and innovative. As a result, they enrich the learning experience, benefiting both their students and the broader school community.

At AISG, we invest in our teachers, offering a multitude of professional development opportunities. In fact, when we recruit, we explicitly state in our teacher profile:

As a teacher, you want to continuously learn and improve as a teacher by participating in a multitude of professional development opportunities by actively collaborating with colleagues reflecting on practices and co-creating a future pedagogical climate that provides teacher growth and development.

Our focus on professional development contributes to the fact that AISG has expert teachers. For instance, 74% of our faculty has a master’s or doctorate, several are IBEN members (IB Educator Network) who are qualified to run IB workshops, many are IB examiners who are specially trained to grade external assessments in their subject area, and our faculty receives an astonishing 300+ professional development sessions each year.

This expertise was put into practice in late September when AISG hosted IB multi-school workshops over a weekend with over 100 educators from six international schools in the South China Network attending and presenting. We are proud to announce that five of our teachers presented during the workshops with topics ranging such as implementing agency in the PYP, managing the Extended Essay, the MYP Personal Project, managing assessment, and the philosophy, policy, and practice of multilingualism.

These workshops were part of the AISG Training Center, another investment and dedication to developing AISG teachers as well as the education industry. The AISG Training Center is recognized locally, regionally, and globally for delivering high-quality training in curriculum development, teaching and learning, and student experience. Catering to international educators and local Chinese teachers both in China and beyond, the AISG Training Center has partnered with industry leaders like PeerSphere, EARCOS, International Education Services, and Innovative Global Education. This collaboration offers a diverse range of training opportunities designed to equip educators with research-based tools and best practices.

Partnering with our own AISG expert educators and leaders in the education industry, the AISG Training Center aims to provide a diverse set of training opportunities that will equip educators with research-based tools and best practices. Click here to learn more about the AISG Training Center.
