Little Dim Sum Chefs – A Celebration of Culture and Community!

At AISG, we believe in celebrating the rich cultural heritage of our host country China, especially Cantonese culture. We want all our students to experience the unique arts and activities that make this region so special. That’s why we’ve developed our Chinese Cultural Heritage Program, one of our Signature Programs under our Annual Fund.

One of our new initiatives this year has been dim sum making! Thanks to a special partnership between AISG and the Guangzhou Restaurant 广州酒家, our students got hands-on experience learning how to make classic dim sum dishes while learning about the history and cultural significance.

Our Pre-Kindergarten 4, Kindergarten, and Grade 1 students have enjoyed this activity so far, making delicious treats such as siumai, egg tarts, mala cake, red bean buns, and more! Students had so much fun decorating their buns and of course enjoying their handmade treats after they’ve been cooked!

A big thank you to our caregivers who helped with these events; their involvement has helped students to make a stronger connection with Guangzhou’s rich cultural heritage and create lasting memories.

Our Chinese Cultural Heritage Program is funded by our Annual Fund, which brings transformative experiences to our students like our Speaker Series, Social Practice Program, Schoolwide Service Program, and more! Other initiatives in our Chinese Cultural Heritage Program include Cantonese Lion Dance and Cantonese Puppetry, both of which have been lifechanging experiences for our students.

At AISG, we believe transformative experiences are at the core of learning. That's why we strive to provide our students with a journey of learning experiences that will inspire, encourage, and transform their lives. Click here to to learn more about our Signature Programs.
