RAMSMUN Represents at CISSMUN XIV
Our 21 Upper Secondary RAMSMUN delegates traveled to Shanghai to attend CISSMUN, the annual MUN conference hosted by Concordia International School Shanghai. This year’s theme was ‘Bridging the Divide’ and 900 students from international schools around the world attended the event.

Representing not just our school, our Rams also stood for 16 different nations across 15 MUN committees, engaging in diplomatic discussions and negotiations with peers from around the globe. Four of our students were selected as committee officers.

Participating in intense debates, lobbying for allies, and drafting resolutions are essential aspects of the MUN experience. Committee sessions feature passionate conversations, where delegates from diverse backgrounds work together to find common ground and propose creative solutions to urgent global challenges, from the effects of the Fukushima oil spill to the rights of migrant workers in South Asia.

A big shoutout to Alex M., who represented the security council of Algeria, and Eduardo D., who represented the UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development, on both receiving best delegate! This is Eduardo’s first year in Upper Secondary and participating in MUN and together with veterans like Alex, who is a twelfth grader and has won Best Delegate three times, their achievements highlight the strength of our program, where mentorship and collaboration are essential in an environment that fosters growth and confidence. Our dedication to teamwork and shared success has established our school as a respected member of the MUN community, earning accolades from other schools.

Additionally, Noel C., Human Rights Council for Paraguay, Eddie L., General Assembly for Slovakia, and Malcolm A., Economics and Social Council for Canada, also received honorable mentions. Great job Rams!

AISG’s MUN conference RAMSMUN will take place in March, with international schools in Guangzhou attending the event. It will be the fourth year and our students are excitedly preparing to host.
