Maker Magic: A Celebration of Innovation

Elementary celebrated one of their favorite days of the year yesterday – Maker Day! This is a special day where our students get to flex their maker mindset and put their creativity to work. In groups, students engaged in hands-on projects that challenged them to problem solve and collaborate.

Each grade had a different theme, which included fun things like Art from the Heart, Space, Turn on Your City, the Amazing Maze Master, Fantasy Land, Sustainable City, and the Great Kindergarten Chain Reaction!

Students used a variety of sustainable materials to make their creations, such as cardboard, paper, bottles, tape, cups, clay, feathers, pomspoms, paint, and more! It was incredible to see all the different and creative ways students used these materials.

At the end of the day, students got to walk around to each classroom and see all the inventive creations that were made! Students had so much fun sharing, playing, and making things move!

Maker Day showcases AISG's dedication to promoting innovation and creativity. By offering students hands-on, project-based learning opportunities, we encourage a maker mindset that empowers them to become problem-solvers, critical thinkers, and active contributors to the global community.

As students engage with the themes and challenges of Maker Day, they not only build essential STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) skills but also foster a deep sense of curiosity and a passion for shaping the future.

At AISG, we place an emphasis on using technology for creation over consumption. By giving students agency in their learning and promoting a maker’s mindset, teachers ensure every student is an empowered creator. Click here to learn more about innovation at AISG.
