AISG Actors Put on a Playful Performance

Last week, 15 of our Lower Secondary students dazzled audiences with their production of 15 Reasons Not to Be in a Play by Alan Haehnel, performed over two nights. This comedic play allowed students to explore the humorous side of theater while showcasing their acting talents through a series of hilarious monologues, duets, and ensemble scenes.

The cast worked diligently for weeks, rehearsing their lines and perfecting their delivery, creating an engaging experience for everyone involved. The performances were a testament to the hard work and creativity of the students. The energy and enthusiasm on stage were infectious, captivating the audience and eliciting plenty of laughter.

The production took place in our black box theater, a smaller venue with limited seating and flexible staging. This approach allowed the students to create a dynamic and immersive experience for the audience, with minimal set design that encouraged imaginative storytelling. The close proximity between the performers and the audience fostered a unique connection, enhancing the comedic elements of the play.

Families, friends, and faculty filled the black box theater, creating a vibrant atmosphere of support and encouragement. The success of this production not only showcased the students' talents but also fostered a sense of community within our school. We are incredibly proud of our Lower Secondary students for their dedication and creativity, and we look forward to more exciting performances in the future!

AISG's Visual and Performing Arts course is designed to provide our students with experiences to develop curiosity, interest, and enjoyment of their own creativity and an appreciation for others’ work. Click here to learn more about Arts at AISG.
