AISG Crossroads Day 2025

Over the weekend, we held our second annual Crossroads Day in Hong Kong with our partner Crossroads Foundation. The trip was a special one-day family service trip that included AISG students, caregivers, faculty, staff, administration, and alumni – showcasing our compassionate community and dedication to service.

We are proud to announce that AISG successfully raised RMB120,000 through the Annual Fund. This generous contribution will be used to purchase new trucks for Crossroads Foundation, enhancing their ability to collect and distribute essential goods to those in need. A special thank you to the families who donated over 500 rice cookers to the Crossroads Foundation. These donations will provide vital support to families in Hong Kong in need.

Crossroads Foundation is a Hong Kong-based non-profit organization that provides vital humanitarian aid and connects those in need with potential helpers. Last year, AISG signed a two-year partnership agreement with Crossroads to collaborate in achieving our shared visions. Through this partnership, we aim to support Crossroads in expanding its impact as a stronger NGO, while benefiting from their expertise to deepen our commitment to service, innovate our approaches, and enhance our positive impact within the community.

At Crossroads Village, our community enjoyed an engaging tour that included the adventure playground, the fair-trade café, and the Global Handicrafts shop. Participants even had the delightful opportunity to feed the goats! Additionally, we took part in some of Crossroads' signature simulations and experiential programs, enriching our understanding of their mission.

Challenge for Water

This simulation invites participants to carry heavy jugs of water, allowing them to experience the daily struggles faced by the 1.1 billion people who lack access to clean water. Participants are encouraged to reflect on potential solutions to address this critical issue.

Trail of World Need

The Trail of World Need offers a family-friendly interactive journey through pressing global issues such as poverty, refugees, and modern-day slavery. Set within a series of shipping containers at Crossroads Village, this journey enables families to explore these topics together and brainstorm ways to support those in need.

Blind X-perience and Blindness Workshop

This immersive simulation guides participants through an African village in complete darkness, led by blind guides. Participants learn to navigate using sound, touch, and scent. The accompanying workshop provides an opportunity to learn Braille and engage in activities that deepen their understanding of life without sight.

For those who attended the service day last year and for Upper Secondary students who are in the Crossroads GCED group, there was also a chance to volunteer. Community members worked together to build furniture that was donated to Crossroads, providing service and manpower to help those in need.

Hear what our community has to say about their experiences!

Our second annual Crossroads Day highlighted the transformative power of service learning. By engaging with global challenges, our community deepened its understanding of empathy and responsibility.  As we move forward, we are motivated to explore new ways to serve and uplift our communities, fostering a culture of compassion and action. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.
