AISG Explorers Winter Camps: Adventure Meets Learning

This winter, the AISG Explorers Program delivered two thoughtfully designed experiences that supported student learning, well-being, and community connection. Through an on-campus program and an international family experience, students engaged in inquiry, exploration, and service while strengthening relationships within the AISG community.

Winter Wonderland Local Camp

During Winter Break, AISG students enjoyed a program that balanced classroom learning with meaningful activities, following a 60/40 split of academics and enrichment. Activities included swimming, hot chocolate socials, gingerbread house building, and gym sessions that promoted physical well-being and teamwork. Younger students learned about winter holidays from around the world to build cultural awareness, while older students explored space through inquiry-based projects that encouraged curiosity and critical thinking. Caregivers noted their children’s excitement each day and the confidence gained throughout the week.

WHY IT’S UNIQUE: Staffed entirely by AISG faculty, local camps ensure continuity of care and a learning environment grounded in our school’s values. Looking ahead, the AISG Explorers Summer Local Camp will launch in June, along with a STEAM-focused camp featuring hands-on technology and coding experiences.

Family Trip to Vietnam

Families traveled together to discover Vietnam’s diverse natural and cultural landscapes, from cave systems and traditional basket boating to lantern-lit riverside towns. Service learning was a highlight, with AISG families collaborating to paint a school gate, clean a courtyard, and connect with local children through reading in multiple languages, games, and shared activities — fostering empathy, respect, and global citizenship.

Beyond activities, the trip deepened bonds between students, caregivers, and faculty, creating a strong, supportive network. Participants reflected on the friendships formed and the lasting memories made through shared experiences.

WHY IT’S UNIQUE: The AISG Explorers Program is a part of our AISG Signature Programs, which focuses on offering transformative and life-changing experiences outside of the classroom for our community. This also includes our Social Practice Program, Schoolwide Service Program, Speaker Series, and Chinese Cultural Heritage Program.
