AISG Grade 8 Promotion
Last week, we celebrated our Grade 8 students completing Lower Secondary with the Grade 8 Promotion! Students in Grades 6 and 7, parents, faculty, and administration were invited to join the joyous event.
The ceremony featured two faculty speakers, Grade 8 HDL and Science/Robotics Teacher Ms. Daphne Chandra and Assistant Principal Ms. Trixie Siemens. Both gave funny and inspiring speeches about the good memories they have of watching our students grow and gave inspirational advice for our students to take to Upper Secondary and beyond.

The Grade 8 String Orchestra performed during the event, giving us a rendition of “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon. Students chose the song as a gift to their fellow students and teachers.

We also had two student speakers, who bravely got up and spoke about their time in Lower Secondary and what they’ve learned over the years. They also spoke about how despite the pandemic, they have adapted and how they never backed down.

Next there was an end of year slideshow, showing happy faces and memories from the past three years. It’s amazing to see how much our students had grown and how much they will continue to grow when they move up to Upper Secondary.

Lastly, the Grade 8 advisors, along with Secondary Principal Dr. Amos Lyso and Assistant Principal Ms. Trixie Siemens, presented students with their certificates. Once everyone was gathered on the risers onstage, the Class of 2026 was presented, and students fired their confetti canons in the air! Congratulations Grade 8 and see you in Upper Secondary next year!
