Last week, AISG had the privilege of hosting a MYP verification visit from the International Baccalaureate® (IB) with two esteemed visitors, Ms. Caroline Xu and Mr. David Martin. Their role was to assess the implementation of our Middle Years Programme (MYP) and ensure that we meet the necessary standards and practices.

Over the course of Thursday and Friday, the verification team engaged with our school community, observing classes, conversing with teachers and students, and reviewing documentation related to the MYP. Their visit was a crucial step in our journey toward becoming an authorized IB school.

The feedback from the verification team was overwhelmingly positive, reflecting the dedication and hard work of our educators and students. In our final meeting, the team expressed their appreciation for the collaborative environment at AISG and our commitment to providing a holistic education that aligns with our mission and vision.

Implementing the MYP is inherently mission and vision driven; it empowers all learners through the attributes of the IB Learner Profiles and forges a globally connected community. This framework not only enhances academic rigor but also provides pathways for students to become responsible members of local, national, and global communities. We are optimistic that within the next 6-8 weeks, we will receive the final report confirming our status as an MYP school.

Being part of the IB continuum offers numerous benefits, including a continuous curriculum that fosters academic rigor and personal growth. The MYP emphasizes critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and the development of skills that students need for success in a rapidly changing world. By integrating the PYP, MYP, and DP, AISG provides a cohesive educational experience that prepares students for future challenges and opportunities, making our graduates well-rounded global citizens.
