Cui Keqin

Bio:

Cui Keqing is the Artistic Director of the Guangdong Provincial Puppet Art Theater. He is a national first-class actor, recognized as a national-level intangible cultural heritage inheritor, and receives special government allowances from the State Council. With over 40 years of experience in puppet art, Cui has achieved notable success in both performance and directing. He has created and performed numerous puppet programs and has received several prestigious awards including the Outstanding Performance Award at the National Puppet and Shadow Show, and the Best Actor Award at the Czech International Puppetry Festival. Additionally, he has been honored as a "Chinese Puppet Performing Arts Elite" by the China Puppet and Shadow Puppet Art Society.

Cui's visit provided students with a unique and engaging educational experience in the rich cultural heritage of Chinese puppetry through sharing a comprehensive overview of the history and diverse forms of puppet art. Moreover, Cui introduced captivating performances, including the thrilling “Sun Wukong Three Battles with the White Bone Demon,” which is adapted from the famous Chinese classic "Journey to the West."
