So, let's get to know the Board, and find out why it's so important to get involved. Who knows, you just might get inspired and want to serve!

Our first article starts with the basics - what is the Board's purpose?

Board Overview

AISG is proud to be one of the longest established non-profit international schools in South China. We are governed by a Board of Directors composed of a diverse group of individuals from the local community and beyond. Our Board members are passionate about providing a world-class education to our students and have worked tirelessly to ensure that AISG remains at the forefront of educational excellence.

Main Responsibility

To ensure the school is delivering on its mission and vision and providing oversight to the school’s leadership team to ensure that the school is meeting the needs of its students and stakeholders.

Operating Model

The AISG Board follows the ‘Governance as Leadership’ operating model. This model means the board will work in three ways:

FIDUCIARY RESPONSIBILITY: making sure the non-profit stays true to its mission and is accountable for performance and obeying laws;

STRATEGIC: setting the organization's priorities and using resources correctly, and

GENERATIVE: engaging in thought leadership to bring wisdom and insight to important issues.

IMPORTANT: The board's role is strictly strategic; they should not get involved with specific management, personnel, or curricular issues.

In summary, good governance is essential for a successful organization, and the AISG Board of Directors are dedicated to the highest standards of governance to ensure the success of the school.
