AISG Elementary Music Students Take the Stage
Our music program is the heart of the Performing Arts program in Elementary. Both in the classroom and in music after school activities, students are taught and discover that everyone can make music. They are encouraged to explore and experiment in fun and energetic ways while learning fundamental music concepts. Aligned with the PYP programme philosophy, the Elementary School program is designed to capture the imagination and creativity of our students.
At AISG, we give our students the ability to compose, create, and take agency in their learning.
So far this school year, AISG Elementary Music Program has been fortunate to perform two concerts.
Music Class Concert
Our grade 4 and 5 students took the stage in more ways than one in their performance to parents. True to our objective in having students take agency in their learning, it was 100% student-led and was an amazing feat! Everything, and we mean everything, was decided by our students collaboratively. Together, they composed the music, wrote the lyrics, chose the lighting, and even chose what they wore onstage!

The theme of the concert was 'holidays’, so their music had the melody of the holiday spirit, their lyrics brought holiday cheer, their lighting was colorful and festive, and their clothing was what they wore during the holidays, like pajamas for a cozy day or dressy outfits for a party! We really do have some very creative students at AISG.

After School Activities Concert
In addition to our music classes, students in grades 2-5 who are interested in further developing their music skills have the option to join our Elementary after school activities of choir and orchestra, and our specially formulated group for the GEB choir competition. Over 60 students took the stage for a thrilling performance that was received enthusiastically by the parents. How rewarding for our young students who spend their extra time after school practicing their music skills and developing their passion.
