Congratulations to the Class of 2023! Graduation took place during the weekend, and it was a joyous celebration for our Grade 12 students, who have now officially completed their studies at AISG! Caregivers, family members, administration, staff, faculty, and other members of our community attended the ceremony, which was held in our state-of-the-art theater at our Science Park campus.
This year, the AISG Orchestra performed the traditional procession song of "Pomp and Circumstance" as our graduates walked down the steps of the theater to cheers and applause from everyone in the audience. There were so many big smiles and emotions as everyone saw our students in their graduation robes and caps for the first time.
The ceremony featured speeches from our Director, Mr. Kevin Baker, our Secondary Principal, Dr. Amos Lyso, and our faculty speaker, Ms. Alexis Partee. All gave inspiring speeches with advice for our students to bring with them to the next chapter of their lives as they all go off to university. There were also two student speakers, who spoke of many happy memories at AISG and everything they will take with them as they leave Guangzhou and enter their next adventure.
The agenda also included unforgettable entertainment pieces. Our faculty and staff made a fun video with short video clips and quotes of advice for our students, students created their own fun video of their memories at AISG, from China trips, to the senior lock-in, to IB exams, to daily adventures during class. Lastly, a very touching live performance from two seniors of the song "Time Adventure", brought many emotions for everyone watching and listening.
Finally, it was time for our students to walk across the stage to receive their diplomas. Our Board Vice Chair, Mr. Eric Hansen, our Secondary Principal, Mr. Amos Lyso, and our Director, Mr. Kevin Baker, presented each student with their diploma. Per AISG tradition, a personalized note from the student was included after announcing their name, making each walk a unique memory for everyone. With diplomas in hand, our students completed the ritual of moving their tassels from right to left then throwing their caps into the confetti-filled air.
Another huge congratulations to the Class of 2023. We are all immensely proud and wish you all the best on your future endeavors. Remember, Once a Ram, Always a Ram!
