AISG: The Non-Profit Advantage and Key Differentiator

As one of the few non-profit schools in China, AISG is uniquely positioned to prioritize its mission and vision above all else. This organizational structure underscores the school's commitment to being responsible stewards of its resources, ensuring that every decision and investment directly benefits its students and their learning.

Volunteer Board

At the heart of this model is the AISG Board of Governors, a dedicated team of volunteers who generously lend their time and expertise in providing fiduciary, strategic, and generative governance and oversight. Serving without remuneration, the Board members are driven solely by a shared passion for advancing the school's strategic objectives.

Fiscal Oversight

Any financial surpluses are reinvested into the school, fueling the continued enhancement of programs, facilities, and resources that directly support student success. The Board's Finance Committee, chaired by the Treasurer and comprising of members with deep financial acumen, ensure rigorous fiscal oversight and accountability.

Financial Transparency

Under the guidance of the School Director, the Director of Finance and Operations meticulously implements the Board's strategic decisions, managing operational resources with the utmost efficiency and responsibility. AISG's commitment to transparency is further demonstrated through annual external audits conducted by renowned international firms, the results of which are presented at the bi-annual American School Association of Guangzhou (ASAG) meeting in October that is attended by the school’s members, its caregivers.

Maximizing High-Quality Education

A non-profit model empowers AISG to remain focused on its core purpose – providing an exceptional educational experience that nurtures the growth and development of each student. By aligning its organizational structure and resource allocation with its strategic mission, AISG is able to maximize its impact and continue raising the bar for high-quality education.

To sum up, we firmly believe that a non-profit model is the optimal approach to guarantee top-notch education for our students and set AISG apart in the market for families. Being the sole and longest standing non-profit international school in South China with a volunteer board, AISG has a distinctive advantage in prioritizing its mission and vision, which serves as a crucial factor for families seeking the highest quality education possible.
