AISG is delighted to announce the appointment of Dirk de Jager as Director of Finance and Operations to begin in the 2019-20 school year.
We are pleased to announce that Dirk de Jager will be joining AISG in the role of Director of Finance and Operations, following a comprehensive search process led by Carney, Sandoe and Associates - specialists in recruiting for schools and nonprofits worldwide.
Dirk holds an MBA and has a 35-year background in international financial management, business development, operations management and strategic planning in both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations across Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States.
With extensive experience in developing both short-term and long-term financial strategies, he has worked as the Director of Finance and Administration for the Council of International School (CIS) and as an Accreditation Evaluator with a specific focus on business operations, finance, and governance.
Dirk is currently the assistant superintendent at International Schools Group where he oversees operations for seven schools in Saudi Arabia and played a leading role in the development of a new campus and its supporting financial strategies.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dirk to the AISG family,” says Kevin Baker, Director Designate.
“During the recruitment process, Dirk shared that he is intrigued by the opportunity to work in one of the leading world economies and by the AISG philosophy of dynamic, compassionate and connected leadership, which closely match his personal values and beliefs.”
Dirk says he’s joining the school at an exciting time. “The pace of change in today's international private education market in China and Guangzhou in particular is exceptional. I am committed to ensuring AISG not only stay at the forefront of this change but also continues to innovate and lead the market as AISG has always done,” he says.
Dirk believes AISG is well positioned to be a market leader and frontrunner in the international school sector. “I am looking forward to building on this success whilst simultaneously ensuring we remain focused on delivering the very best quality education to our students.”
Dirk is looking forward to transitioning into Guangzhou and learning about the great Chinese culture and is keen to help lead the new campus redevelopment project to success.
“I am excited to be following my heart to AISG and to contribute to what I believe to be a great community,” he says.
Dirk is native to The Netherlands and speaks Dutch, English, and German fluently. In his spare time, he enjoys tennis, golf, and road cycling, and describes himself as an amateur chef and certified wine connoisseur.
Dirk will join AISG as the new Director of Finance and Operations in the early fall as soon as the logistics of his relocation can be concluded.
