ASAG Meeting Fall 2020

AISG’s Board of Governors holds American School Association Guangzhou (ASAG) meetings twice a year (fall and spring). On October 21, AISG hosted the fall meeting that featured the school’s financial audit results, highlights from the annual report and the Board’s goals for the upcoming year.

ASAG fall meeting was held at the Ritz-Carlton Guangzhou hotel. Attending the meeting provided important insights, but, more importantly, its record attendance of 300+ demonstrated AISG’s united and connected community. The school spirit of the RamNation is vibrant and strong.

The purpose of ASAG is to promote the provision of an American-based education for foreign children living in or around Guangzhou, through the governance of the school. Membership in the Association is voluntary with members composed of parents and legal guardians of children who are attending AISG.

AISG is governed by the Board of Governors that is comprised of three elected ASAG representatives and four appointed representatives from the Guangzhou community. The Board works collaboratively with the Director to lead the school. The specific focus of the Board is to ensure the school’s long-term future and its strategic initiatives. It is important to note that the day-to-day operations of the school is the responsibility of the Director and the Leadership Team.
