Athletics & Activities Awards Ceremony
On Friday, the annual Athletics and Activities Awards ceremony took place to honor our Upper Secondary students who dedicated their time, energy, and passion for their extracurriculars over the past year. It was a chance for our coaches, mentors, and teachers to share success stories and highlights about individuals, teams and ensembles.

The ceremony was hosted by members of the Athletic Council, a student-led group that focuses on supporting the Upper Secondary athletics program, and sponsored by the PTA. The night also featured performances from the APAC Band and Choir, which was a wonderful treat for everyone in the audience.

We are proud to see how many students have been involved in a total of 19 extracurriculars over the year, ranging from athletics and performing arts to innovation and educational simulation. Each group was presented on stage for our community to appreciate along with individual awards given to the most valuable, the most improved and coach’s choice.

To conclude the evening, the three most coveted awards, Male/Female Performer of the Year, Male/Female Athlete of the Year and the Scott Mohr Award, were announced. It was an exciting moment for those who received these awards as well as for those who honored them with much praise and applause.
For the Athlete of the Year, the Athlete must have participated in at least 2 sports during the year. They must exhibit the highest standard of commitment, effort, teamwork, and competitive excellence. They are also outstanding individuals on and off the playing venue.

For the Performer of the Year, the Performer must have participated in major performance and have consistently upheld the highest standards of integrity, honesty, hard work, academic achievement and competitive performance.

The Scott Mohr Award, named in loving memory of a beloved AISG coach who passed away in 2015, is the highest honor a Student-Athlete can receive at AISG. This award is given to one AISG student-athlete each year who exemplifies the core principles and values that defined Scott Mohr—love and respect for sports, continuous improvement in both individual and team skills, dedication to the team over self, selflessness on and off the court, humility in victory, and grace under pressure and in defeat.

Our coaches and mentors work hard to help lead our students in excelling and reaching their goals, as well as nurturing their passion and spirit. Congratulations to everyone who contributed to our comprehensive and very successful athletics and activities program for the 2021-2022 school year.

At AISG, we offer an array of athletics and activities which allow students to pursue their passions. These opportunities are offered as after-school activities and exploratory activities across the AISG curriculum. Click here to learn more about AISG activities.
