Speaker Series: Jennifer Abrams

Jennifer Abrams, a communications consultant and author, visited AISG last week as a part of our Speaker Series. She has been a part of our Speaker Series previously but only virtually, so we were super excited that she was able to join us in-person this time!

Jennifer held sessions with our Upper Secondary students, caregivers, staff, and faculty.

Students

With our students, Jennifer discussed topics she wrote in her new book Stretching Your Learning Edges: Growing (Up) at Work. She taught our students how important it is to know your own identity, to suspend certainty, to take responsibility, to engage in reciprocity, and build resiliency.

Caregivers

With our caregivers, Jennifer discussed the topics she wrote in her book Having Hard Conversations. She imparted with our caregivers on how to be more aware and empathetic and how to be a part of a solution. During the session, caregivers were given time to talk and discuss with each other, which was helpful to hear each other’s perspective and experiences.

Faculty and Staff

Jennifer also discussed topics from Stretching Your Learning Edges: Growing (Up) at Work with our faculty and staff. The goal of these sessions was to enhance our abilities to contribute value to the team and promote better collaboration.

A big thank you to Jennifer Abrams for coming to AISG and imparting her wisdom on us. AISG’s Speaker Series is made possible through the generous donations from our AISG community through the Annual Fund.
