United Nations Day Celebration
On Monday, students in Elementary School celebrated UN Day with our annual Nations Parade! AISG is a multicultural and diverse international school and we love to see our students proudly celebrate their native culture and nationality.
The parade took place in the gym and students dressed up native attire or colors for the occasion. Our faculty, TAs, administration, and parent volunteers helped students gather in their nationality groups.

Students from each nationality paraded around the gym and waved flags in celebration. Students could also join the parade of their “heart” nationality for students who have grown up in different countries and/or come from multicultural families. The parade was livestreamed for parents to watch.

After the parade, students participated in activities in their respective classrooms surrounding this year’s theme: “The Road to a Lasting Peace: Leveraging the Power of Youth for Peace and Security.”

For the occasion, some classes defined what peace means to them and made big posters as a class. Other classes discussed with a partner and reflected on one of UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, such as ‘no poverty’ and ‘gender equality’.

UN Day is celebrated every year to mark the anniversary of the creation of the United Nations and every year it’s a great way for our students to not only celebrate their heritage and our multicultural community, but to also understand how our global mindedness and global initiatives can make our world a better place.
