September at AISG is recognized as UPstander Awareness Month, dedicated to raising awareness about bullying and teaching our students how to become UPstanders while discussing AISG’s No Bully program. Throughout the month, students, faculty, staff, and caregivers engage in various activities aimed at supporting one another in standing up against bullying.
The month was filled with meaningful initiatives. In Elementary, students attended assemblies where our principals talked about the cause, our teachers referenced the theme in their classrooms, and counselors gave guidance lessons on the topic. Secondary students learned more about the cause during their weekly advisory lessons and pledged their personal commitments to be UPstanders. Everyone wore green on September 25 to show their dedication to this important cause!
Our counselors also organized sessions for caregivers, providing insights on how they can encourage their children to be UPstanders, respond to bullying, and help adolescents advocate for themselves and their peers.
UPstander Awareness and AISG’s No Bully program are integral to our Social Vision, which emphasizes that AISG is a community where every voice is valued and everyone can be their authentic selves. We believe that by providing training and education for faculty, staff, students, and caregivers, we can foster a bully-free environment in our community.
AISG is dedicated to preventing and addressing bullying and harassment through the No Bully System. This system emphasizes key principles such as interrupting bullying, promoting inclusivity, fostering a safe campus environment, and taking appropriate measures to support students.
With more than 600 schools globally adopting the No Bully standard, AISG is proud to be part of this initiative. Our faculty members are trained as Solution Coaches and collaborate as a Solution Team to address and resolve bullying situations.
At AISG, we prioritize the safety of our students and strive to equip them with skills they can use in the future. We focus on educating our community to foster support, maintain connections, and empower individuals to become UPstanders rather than bystanders.
AISG is committed to being a safe and bully-free school and will make every possible effort to provide a learning environment where students are safe, supported, and free from harm. Click here to learn more about our no bully system.
