Fall into Music at AISG
At AISG, the Performing Arts are a vital part of how students learn to express themselves, collaborate, and bring their skills to life on stage. Our Secondary student performers stepped into the spotlight for their Fall Concert Series recently, filling our state-of-the-art theater with music, energy, and pride. Families, faculty, and fellow students gathered to support them, enjoying evenings that showcased months of dedication and artistry.
The series began on Tuesday with our Concert Bands, opening with Massed Bands performing upbeat favorites like "Power Rock" and the festive "Jingle Bells". The Combined Emergent, Intermediate, and Upper Secondary Band followed with "African Adventure" and a Scottish Folk Song, setting a spirited tone for the night.
Next, the Combined Intermediate and Upper Secondary Band brought more seasonal cheer with "Christmas Classique", before the Upper Secondary Band closed the evening on a high note with Suite from Lincolnshire Posy and Themes from First Suite in E Flat.
The following week focused on the beauty of voice and strings. Choir ensembles — Emergent Choir, Intermediate Choir, Upper Secondary Choir, APAC Choir, and Massed Choir — blended harmonies on classic and modern hits including "Die with a Smile", "When You Believe", "Flower Dance", and "Bel Piacere". Each piece reflected not only vocal skill but also the teamwork and passion that define our Performing Arts program.
Ending the concert series in style, our String Orchestras — Grade 6 Strings, String Emergent, Strings Intermediate, APAC Orchestra, and Upper Secondary Strings — delivered an unforgettable finale. The repertoire ranged from cinematic favorites like "Moving Castle" and "Pirates of the Caribbean" to "Allegro", "Novelletten", and "Music from La La Land", showcasing versatility, technique, and emotion in equal measure.
At AISG, we believe the Performing Arts give students the chance to grow as confident, creative, and collaborative individuals. The Fall Concerts are not just musical events; they are a celebration of student learning, dedication, and the universal language of music that brings our community together.
