Families Share Lunar New Year Traditions
“One thing people might not know about Lunar New Year is…”
Lunar New Year is shaped by many traditions, shared across families in different ways.
Within our community, these traditions are carried through small moments–family meals, preparations, traditions, and time spent together. While some practices are widely recognized, others are known only within families, passed down through generations.
To learn more, we invited members of our community to share one thing people might not know about Lunar New Year.
“One thing people might not know about the Lunar New Year is…”
From students to caregivers, these reflections offer a glimpse into how Lunar New Year is experienced at home. This is what is special about AISG. We learn from each other.
Together, these voices remind us that Lunar New Year is lived through connection, within families, and within the wider community we share at AISG.
At the American International School of Guangzhou, learning about culture begins by listening. By making space for community voices, students and families learn from one another in ways that feel personal, respectful, and meaningful. It’s the real impact of community.
If one of these reflections taught you something new, share it.
