Happy Earth Day from AISG!
In honor of Earth Day, AISG was invited by Lisa K. Heller, the Consul General of the U.S. Consulate of Guangzhou, to participate in their annual Tree Planting Ceremony. Attending were some of our second and fourth grade students along with our Elementary Assistant Principal, Mr. Eric Crabtree, and Elementary School Principal Mrs. Virginia Udall. This year, a total of six trees were planted!

Each tree planted is a symbol of hope and a shared commitment to a sustainable future. They will stand as a reminder that when we come together, we can make a positive impact on our world. With our students working together, they made easy work of the planting, and it was a wonderful display of collaboration and teamwork.

Along with planting, there was also a honey harvesting demonstration! The U.S. Consulate of Guangzhou has an apiary, along with a beekeeper, and students got to watch the process of how honey is harvested from the slotted rack and turned into honey using an extractor. It was truly a rewarding process to watch and emphasized how important bees are to our planet.

Celebrating Earth Day with the U.S. Consulate of Guangzhou was not only a rewarding experience for our students in taking care of our planet, but it is also aligned with our Mission of empowering all learners to make a positive impact and our Vision of creating unique, transformative learning journeys that will form a globally connected community.
