This past weekend, AISG proudly hosted the SDRC Basketball Championship, where our boys and girls Division 1 and 2 teams welcomed student athletes from UISG, SIS, QSIS, and AISHK! As a founding member of the Southern Delta Region Conference, we celebrated the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork among our Lower Secondary athletes.

Our athletes performed incredibly with our division 1 boys winning first place and our division 1 girls winning second! We are super proud of all the hard work our students put in during the season to hone their skills and talents and it was rewarding to see it all pay off.

The tournament was also a community event, with our students, faculty, staff, and caregivers coming to cheer our athletes. The gym was full of the sound of cheers, encouragement, and drumming and our athletes on the courts felt supported and motivated to perform their best.

Tournaments provide an excellent opportunity for our students to establish connections with students from other schools, thereby creating a larger international school community. After each day of games, students had the chance to enjoy a meal together and socialize, enjoying some games and karaoke together.

The SDRC Basketball Championship was not just about winning; it was an opportunity for our students to learn valuable life skills such as perseverance, collaboration, and sportsmanship. As we celebrate their victories, we look forward to seeing how these athletes continue to grow and excel in their athletic journeys.
