Speaker Series 2021-2022

Upcoming Speakers 2021-2022
AISG is pleased to announce this year’s current lineup for our Speaker Series! Our Speaker Series invites speakers from all over the world to AISG to share their captivating stories and inspire, enlighten, and transform learning for our students and when possible, our AISG community. We have welcomed all speakers with all sorts of specialties such as writing, music, tai chi, drama, performance art, and communication. Our Speaker Series allows students to learn beyond what is taught in the classroom.
We are excited to announce our current upcoming speakers this year. We are confident that our AISG community will truly benefit from these visits:

Nick D. Thompson
Nick is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, having over 15 years of experience working with youth and their families. He is passionate about helping people realize that adolescence is a time of great opportunity and not just a phase to survive. During his virtual visit, he will meet with Secondary students, teachers, and parents. For AISG parents, the link to the parent meeting was sent out in last Friday’s eNews, don’t miss this opportunity!

Fang Jinlong
Fang Jinlong is a distinguished artist and one of the “four kings” in traditional Chinese music. He is known for playing over 100 instruments, with his speciality being the pipa and is considered the top pipa player in the country. He will visit both campuses and speak to students as well as hold workshops for certain music classes.

Hou Bin
Hou Bin is a Chinese high jumper who won Paralympic titles at three consecutive Paralympic Games from Atlanta 1996 through to Athens 2004. He was chosen as the torchbearer who lit the Olympic cauldron at the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games. His high jump record was a stunning 1.92 meters. He will visit both campuses and speak with students.
Made possible through the donations to our AISG Annual Fund through the Hong Bao Campaign, we are excited to bring these extraordinary speakers to our community.
