What a Year of Impact Looks Like

The AISG Impact begins in the everyday moments.

In the questions students are brave enough to ask. In the friendships that help them feel seen, heard, and valued. In the lessons that push beyond the classroom. In the opportunities that allow students to understand themselves, connect with others, and contribute to the world with impact.

This year, at the American International School of Guangzhou (AISG),we have shared stories of Impact in Learning, Impact in Community, and Impact Beyond Graduation.

But, these stories were never separate from who AISG already is. The AISG Impact was not something we created. It was something we already were. We just named it.

When you listen to the way students talk about their learning, the way caregivers describe the community, the way teachers speak about growth, and the way alumni reflect on what AISG gave them, a clear identity begins to emerge.

This year, we have seen impact through three connected stories.

Impact in Learning is found in the way students ask questions, build confidence, connect ideas, and turn knowledge into action.

Impact in Community is found in the everyday moments of belonging, when students, caregivers, educators, and alumni come together to support one another, celebrate difference, and share in experiences that make every voice feel seen, heard, and valued.

Impact Beyond Graduation is found in what students carry with them: the habits, relationships, values, and confidence that continue to shape who they become.

Together, these stories remind us that impact is not separate from the AISG identity. Learning impacts how we think. Community impacts who we are. Beyond graduation carries impact forward. It’s how this shared identity is lived.

And perhaps that is why this year’s Impact stories have felt so natural to tell. They were never stories we had to search for. They were already here, reflected in the people who live the AISG experience every day.

This year, we asked our community: What impact did AISG have on you? The answers came through stories of learning, belonging, growth, action, and life beyond graduation.
