Grade Placement
Finding the Right Fit
Students are placed in a grade level after due consideration of their chronological age, previous school experience, achievement level, and emotional and physical maturity, with consideration given to AISG's curriculum, standards, and expectations.
Students who have not completed a full year of a given grade by the start of the school year will be enrolled in the same grade level. In the case of mid-year applications from Australia, New Zealand, or other national school systems whose school calendars differ from our American one, students may be required to complete the AISG school year at their current grade level.
Students enrolling in our Pre-Kindergarten must be 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1st of that school year. Students enrolling in our Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before September 1st of that school year.
AISG recognizes that there may be differences in opinion of parents or students regarding grade placement as a result of a transfer from a different educational system, different program of studies, or a system based on a different calendar year. However, AISG reserves the right to make all final determinations regarding grade placement.
