#SPBound Story Series – State-of-the-Art Performing Arts Center

What is #SPBound?

Our Grade 4 and 5 Upper Elementary students are moving to the Science Park campus in 2024-2025, and we've named this exciting journey #SPBound. To give you a sneak peek into the amazing opportunities that await our students, we've created the #SPBound Story Series. So, enjoy the third story in our series and stay tuned for more!

Performing arts have always been an integral part of our curriculum and student experience at AISG. With Upper Elementary’s move to Science Park, our students can now take their performances to the next level at our state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center.

Spectacular Theater

Get ready to be wowed when you enter the Science Park theater! Our professional theater features state-of-the-art equipment with an elegant design, and comfortable seating for up to 499 spectators. The exceptional acoustics, top-notch lighting and sound systems create the perfect atmosphere for any show. Additionally, its spacious stage that even includes a musical pit, can accommodate a wide range of performances, from lively concerts to toe-tapping musicals and everything in between.

Inspiring Young Performers

The Performing Arts Center, located right in front of the Upper Elementary Building, provides a unique opportunity for students to witness the performing arts program in action. Older students can serve as positive role models as they practice in purpose-built classrooms, including acoustic-optimized spaces, a black box theater, and individual practice rooms. Witnessing the passion and dedication of their older peers encourages Upper Elementary students to explore their own artistic potential with confidence.

IB Learning Journey

The Performing Arts Center is fully committed to supporting the IB curriculum. As part of the MYP and DP curriculum, Art is one of the subject groups, which encompasses Theater and Music classes. By attending drama performances and concerts for band, choir, and strings, Upper Elementary students are able to witness the skills and talents of their older peers, which inspires and motivates them to continue their own learning journey within the IB programme.

Community Builder

The Performing Arts Center can serve as a venue for school-wide events and performances. These events can include plays, musicals, talent shows, and other performances that showcase the diverse talents of the school community. The Performing Arts Center fosters a positive and supportive school culture where students feel valued and builds a sense of community and pride in the school.

Access to the Performing Arts Center is an exciting opportunity for Upper Elementary students to grow, learn, and explore their interests in our performing arts program that nurtures curiosity, fosters creativity, and promotes an appreciation for the arts.

We can't wait for our Upper Elementary students to arrive!
