Dear Parents,
We would like to take this opportunity to share an update on the progress made on our DFO Search Visit since our last communication sent on Tuesday, May 21st.
This past week, our DFO Search Committee conducted video interviews with a number of highly qualified semi-finalists. The DFO Search Committee has identified two candidates who we feel best represent the skills and qualities needed to support AISG’s strategic direction and contribute to our vibrant community.
The two candidates will join AISG for a site visit on Sunday, June 2nd and Monday, June 3rd.
As part of their site visit, the two candidates will meet with a range of stakeholders including the DFO Search Committee, Leadership and Operations Teams, representatives from the PTA, and the departing Director of Finance of Operations, Board members, and include tours of both campuses and Guangzhou itself.
Please find below some brief information about each of our two candidate finalists.
Dirk de Jager has a 35-year background in international financial management, business development, operations management and strategic planning in both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations across Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States.
With extensive experience in the development of new campuses and development of short-term and long-term financial strategies, Dirk has worked as the Director of Finance and Administration for the Council of International School (CIS) and as an Accreditation Evaluator with a specific focus on business operations, finance, and governance, and has overseen operations of a school district with seven schools.
Dirk is native to The Netherlands and is currently located in The Hague, Netherlands.
Tim Kastelic is a Certified MBA and 20+ year business leader with extensive experience in the educational environment with specific skills in financial management and operations, project management, human resources, construction planning, capital project management, facility management, and strategic planning.
Tim has worked in the field of education since 2001 and has also served as the General Manager of Facility Merchandising for the Cleveland Browns Professional Football Team. Tim has extensive experience in facilities planning, renovation and construction of complex projects, including the building of the Cleveland Browns stadium.
Tim is native to Ohio, United States and is currently located in San Jose, California.
We are very pleased to be bringing such outstanding candidates to visit our school.
